Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora, 111½, of Coachella, California, successfully defended her IBF Flyweight world title when she  won by a tenth round TKO over Christina Cruz, 111¼, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Fundora won the IBF Flyweight world title over Arely Mucino last year on October 21, 2023, when she defeated Mucino by KO in the fifth round of a ten round bout.

Nicole Araya, pro debut won a four-round unanimous decision over Daiana Belen Bondaruk, pro debut, in the bantamweight division.

Sheila Martinez won a ten-round unanimous decision over Anaelle Angerville.  The two were fighting for the EBU European Featherweight division.

Congrats to Jonas in a spectacular fight by both Mayer and Jonas and made Women’s boxing proud tonight…(by the way, some felt that Mayer won the fight).

Tina Rupprecht, 102, Augsburg, Bayern, Germany, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Fabiana Bytyqi, 101.  The two were fighting for the WBC Atomweight title.  The final judges scores were 97-93, 97-93, and 98-92.   In a second female bout, Lara Ochmann won a first time KO in the first round over Diana Kulinova.  The bout was scheduled for six rounds.

Snezana Siljkovic, 112¼, of Belgrade, Serbia, won a four-round split decision over Emma Kirstein Jensen, 110¾, of Copenhagen.  In a second female bout, Elizabeth Oshoba, 125¼, of Nigeria, won by a TKO over Michela Braga, 125.5. The bout was scheduled for ten rounds. The two were fighting for the WBC Silver Featherweight belt.

Eri Matsuda, 101 3/4, won a ten-round split decision over Yuko Kuroki, 101 1/2.  The two were fighting for the WBO Atom World title.  Final judges scores were 97-93, 94-96, and 96-94.

Joana Nwamerue, 128½, of Las Vegas, Nevada, won by a third round TKO over Colleen Davis, 130¾. The bout was scheduled for six rounds.

January 7, 2024 – Cines Callao, Madrid, Spain
Featherweight Jennifer Miranda of Madrid, Spain, will be facing Lara Altamirano in a ten round bout for WBA Interim World Featherweight title.  Miranda, is undefeated with a 9-0-0 (1KO) record.  Altamirano is also undefeated with a 9-0-1 (0KO) boxing record, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

January 6, 2024 – Stadthalle Münster Hiltrup, Münster, Germany
Germany´s Elina Tissen (37) won the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) world Featherweight.  Tissen stopped Kenyan veteran Jane Kavulani in round eight, and announced her retirement from the sport immediately after. Concluding a pro career which has spanned almost eighteen years.“Elin The Machine” finishes with a fine 26-3 (7) record, while Kavulani is stopped for the first time and drops to 19-18-5 (7).
Tissen first became world champion in 2008 (GBU), and unified and defended various belts over the years.  In 2021 she won the WBF world title beating another Kenyan, Everline Odero, and made one successfully defense, against Eftychia Kathopouli, before losing the title to Enerolisa de Leon in November of 2022.  She had to wait over a year for a chance to regain her crown, but when it finally came she delivered and retires from the sport on top.

FEBRUARY

February 25, 2024 – Accrington, Lancashire
Clara Lescurat won a ten-round unanimous decision over Regina Chavez.  The two were fighting for the WBA World Super Flyweight title.

February 24, 2024 – Gimnasio Federacion de Boxeo, San Miguel
Sofia Rebolledo won a six-round unanimous decision over Marcela Nieto in the super bantamweight division.

Februrary 24, 2024 – Royal Arena, Copenhagen, Denmark
Dina Thorslund won by an eight round TKO over Mary Romero successfully defending her  WBC/WBO Bantamweight world title. Dina was originally going to fight Seren Cetin but she had to withdraw after receiving a cut while sparring.  In a second female bout, Mikaela Lauren won by a first round RTD over Mariami Nutsubidze.

February 23, 2024 – Hala Sportowa, ul. Berlinga, Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki
Adrianna Jedrzejczyk, 143 1/4, of Kielce, Poland, won a four-round unanimous decision over Johana rochi, 143 1/4, of Prague, Czech Republic.  Final judges scores were 40-36.   Adrianna is now 2-0-0 (1KO), Rochi is 1-1-0.

Anastasiia Petrenko, 128¼, won by a second round TKO over Valeriia Korotchuk, 123 1/2.

Bantamweight Simona Salvatori won a ten-round unanimous decision over Svitlana Vasylevska.  Final judges scores were 96-94, 97-93, and 97-93. Simona won the IBF International title.   In a second female bout, Mery Di Bari won a six-rounder by points over Evelin Camporeale.

21 year old Eleanor ‘Triple L’ Coulson made history on the 2nd February 2024 when she beat Australia’s Jamie Edenden by unanimous decision to secure the World Boxing Association (WBA) Oceania Middleweight Championship at the Shirebrook Leisure Centre.  Coulson, whose record now stands at 14-1-0, became the first Female boxer licensed by the British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA) to win a ‘Big 4’ (WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF) Championship and only the second BIBA licensed boxer to secure a ‘Big 4’ Championship also on a BIBA sanctioned event, the other being six time, five division World Champion and WBO Intercontinental Champion Lee ‘Aberdeen Assassin’ McAllister, when he secured WBO Regional title in Aberdeen back in May 2021.

Hailey Pennington, 164 1/4, won a first round TKO over Lashwanda Ellis, 171 1/2.  The bout was scheduled for four rounds.  Both Pennington and Ellis were making their pro debut.

Sandy Ryan, 146 lb., from Derbyshire, United Kingdom, made it a short night when she fought Terri Harper, 146 1/4, of Yorkshire, United Kingdom, and winning by a fourth round RTD when Harper did not come out for the fourth round.  The two were fighting for the WBO Welterweight title.  The fight was scheduled for ten rounds, at 2 minutes per round.  Full Story

Sarah Liegmann won the WBF World Featherweight title over  Ana Maria Lozano.  Liegmann was just too sharp and talented for the very experienced Lozano, who did her best to find a way but was out-boxed in every round.  After ten rounds of boxing, judges Adrian Laschescu, Rustam Rahimov and Andreas Mueller all scored the fight 100-90 in favour of Liegmann.  A pro since since September of 2021, Liegmann improved her professional record to 10-0 (2), while Lozano, coming up short in her ninth attempt at world honours, drops to 24-13-1 (19).
The fight headlined a championship triple-header promoted by Rhein-Main Promotion / Bugge & Bunn.

Colombian female fighter Laura Wolleman (10-1-0, 3 KOs) won a split ten decision over Mexican opoonent Angela Nolasco (11-7-1, not KO) night Saturday 27 April in the Vasco Nunez de Balboa Convention Center in Panama City, Panama. The fight has schedule in flyeright, 112 pounds, where Wolleman Is WBO #7 rated. Nolasco is WBC #14 light flyweight. Former world title challenger Jessica Camara, 135, scored a huge win as she defeated the “undefeated” and former two-division world champion Myun Hi Choi, 135, to win the WBA Gold Championship in the lightweight division via a split decision in Choi’s home country of South Korea. Gabriela Celeste Alaniz, 111¼, won a ten-round majority decision over Marlen Esparza, 114 (2 pounds over the weight class agreement) for the vacant  WBA, WBC, WBO titles that Esparza lost when she did not make weight.  Alaniz is the champion of these belts.  Final judges scores were 91-99, 95-95, and 93-97.

April 27, 2024 – Restaurante Bar Don Juan, Carmen de Apicala, Colombia
Kailia Attry, 134 3/4, won by a second round RTD over Carolina Mejia, 133 1/2, The bout was scheduled for six rounds.

April 27, 2024 -Miccosukee Casino & Resort in Miami, Florida
Olivia Curry, 159.8, and Melody Popravak, 158.4, fought to a draw in a six-round bout in the middleweight division. The rounds were each two minutes in duration.  Curry is a contender in the super middleweight division with a rating of No. 5 by the International Boxing Organization (IBO). Popravak had a record of 1-1 before this fight, but her one loss was by split decision in a four-round bout to super middleweight contender Kaitlin LaVigne who is rated No. 12 by the IBO….Full Story

Oshae “Suga” Jones of Toledo, Ohio won the IBF and IBO super welterweight titles against Femke “Thunder” Hermans of Belgium. Hermans was making the third defense of her IBO title and the first defense of her IBF title. Hermans had defeated Mary Spencer of Canada by unanimous decision to win the vacant IBO title in 2022. There was a night of boxing, live-streamed on Netflix, with some very good male fights on the undercard. In the co-main bout at the event that stood out. The fight featured Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano vs. Katie Taylor where Taylor was defending her multiple world titles. Gabriela Timar, 104 1/2, of Basel, Switzerland, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Yoselin Fernandez, 104, of Caracas, Venezuela. Final judges scores were 90-100, 90-100, 91-99.  Timar moved her record to 13-2-0 (3KO), and Fernandez is now 15-6-0 (8KO). The two were fighting for the WBO International Minimum title.

December 17, 2024- Sony Hall, in New York
Nisa Rodriguez, 165, won by a second round TKO over Melody Popravak, 162 3/4, out of Snellville, Georgia. According to a press release, Rodriguez rocked Popravak with just 30 seconds to go in round two. The bout was scheduled for six rounds. Rodriguez remains undefeated at 3-0-0 (1KO), and Popravak is now 2-3-1 (1KO).

Ayumi Shuzui, 101 3/4, now 3-0-0 (1KO) won a four-round unanimous decision over Emily Abe, 101 3/4. She slipped to 1-4-0.  Final judges scores were 40-36, 39-37, and 39-37.
