Southpaw featherweight 5′ 5½″ Skye “The Prodigy” Nicolson, born on August 27, 1995, is an Australian boxer who began boxing at the age of 12. Skye was the sister of Jamie Nicholson who was also a boxer, but was in a tragic accident, and had passed away, before she was born. Skye followed in his footsteps and she competed in the amateurs extensively, and was paving the way for others in the sport in Australia.
In 2016, she took a bronze medal in the 64kg category at the 2016 at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan; at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning a gold medal; and Nicolson competed in the 2019 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast and won gold at that event. On online sources she has had 50 plus amateur bouts.
On March 5, 2022, after having a successful amateur career, she made her pro debut against Jessica “La Reyna” Juarez, 129, with a 3-0 record. Nicolson wasted little time in fighting four-rounders, and in her pro debut against Juarez, she fought six rounds in a very evenly matched out.
Nicolson, 129, ultimately won the bout, by a unanimous decision with judges scores as 54-60, 55-59 and 54-60. In one news media source said that Nicolson is more proud of the fact that she is part of a growing movement building both Australian sport and boxing in her country. During her fight with Juarez, the commentators remarked that Nicolson would like to return to the amateurs in the Olympics in 2024. That is her goal is to win a Gold in the Olympics.
On March 26, 2022, at the First Direct Arena, in Leeds, Nicolson, 127, won a six-rounder by points over Bec Connolly, 127 1/4. The score is 60-54.
On April 30, 2022, at the Madison Square Garden, in New York, Nicolson, 125 1/4, fought on one of the biggest cards that had Amanda Serrano fighting Katie Taylor on the card. Nicolson won by a six-round unanimous decision over Shanecqua Paisley Davis, 125 1/2.
On June 4, 2022, at the Cardiff International Arena, Cardiff, Nicolson, 127 1/4, won an eight-round bout by points over Gabriel Bouvier, 127 1/4.

On February 4, 2023, at the Hulu Theatre, Madison Square Garden, New York, in another high-profile boxing card, with Amanda Serrano fighting Erika Cruz; Nicolson, 124¾, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Tania Alvarez, 125½. Final judges scores were 98-92, 97-93, and 100-90. The two were fighting for the WBC Silver Featherweight title.

On September 15, 2023, at the Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno, Tijuana, Nicolson, 125 3/4, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Sabrina Perez, 125 3/4. The two were fighting for the WBC Interim World Featherweight belt. Final judges scores were 98-92, 99-91, and 97-93.
On November 25, 2023, at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, Nicolson, 125 1/4, won by a [1:11] ninth round stoppage of Lucy Wildheart in a scheduled ten-round bout. The two were fighting for the WBC Interim World Featherweight title. Wildheart’s corner threw in the towel.
