After college is where her boxing journey began. She began boxing in 2008 purely for fitness. In April of 2009 McCaskill had her first amateur bout.
Out of St. Louis she climbed the ranks and won the 2010 Golden Gloves.
In 2012, McCaskill relocated to begin a career in the future’s industry. When boxing in the amateurs she was representing Chicago, Illinois, and at that time she held two additional Golden Glove Championship belts from 2014 and 2015. With her amateur career behind her Jessica “CasKILLA” McCaskill signed with Rick Ramos Boxing in August of 2015 to manage her career.
After starting in the Lightweight division McCaskill then moved up to Super Lightweight to dethrone both the WBC and WBA champions in 2018-2019. McCaskill then became Unified and Undisputed Welterweight Champion in 2020 being the first fighter to hand her opponent a loss.
McCaskill made history with Warrior’s Boxing Promotions being their first female fighter to sign a promotional contract. She was the first female fighter to fight on DAZN USA. She is ranked as the number one female Welterweight in the U.S. and in the world with a current record of only 9-2 with 3 KOs, as of December 2020.
Some of the highlights of her professional boxing career:
In 2017, fighting four times that year, she defeated Carla Torres, Brenda Gonzales, Natalie Brown, and one fight with Katie Taylor where she lost by a unanimous decision for a WBA World title bout.
On October 6, 2018, at the Wintrust Arena, in Illinois, Chicago, McCaskill, now 6-2-0 (3KO), of Chicago, Illinois, won by a ten-round unanimous decision over Erica Farias, now 26-3-0 (10KO), of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Farias was defending her WBC Super lightweight title. McCaskill became the new WBC title holder.
In May of 2019, at the MGM National Harbor, in Oxon Hill, Maryland McCaskill, 138¾, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Anahi Sanchez, 138. The two were fighting for the WBA and WBC super lightweight world titles. The final judges scores were 99-91, 96-94, and 98-92. McCaskill was defending her WBC title.
Later that year, she fought at the Wintrust Arena, Chicago, Illinois, in October of 2019, where in a rematch she won a ten-round majority decision over Erica Farias, 138¾, OF Buenos Aires, Argentina. The two were fighting for the WBC and WBA Super Lightweight title.
In one of the most high-profile fights that McCaskill had took place on August 15, 2020, in Downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, featured in themainliner, that was a scheduled ten-round unification world title bout, McCaskill defeated Cecilia Braekhus who was defending her WBO, WBC, IBO, WBA, IBF Welterweight world title bouts. The bout was live on DAZN. McCaskill improved her record to 9-2-0 (3KO), and Braekhus experiencing her first defeat in the sport, is now 36-1-0 (9KO). Full WBAN Story with video Highlights of fight
