5′ 5″ lightweight Diana Estrada, from Hillsboro, Oregon, began boxing when she was only six years old. Estrada comes from a boxing family and she first got interested in the sport when she used to go watch her two older brothers, who would be training everyday in the sport. Estrada said, “I asked my mom and dad if they could let me try it out, and as time passed I fell in love with the sport.”
“My family plays a huge role in boxing for me because I have a mom that is my coach as well, she goes up in the corner and trains me everyday just like my dad. My three brothers help me in sparring and training and which my oldest brother Efrain made the USA team in 2017. My brothers Omar and Eric Estrada are both undefeated professional fighters, they are both 4-0-4 KO,” added Estrada.
Estrada paid her dues in the amateurs and she made the USA team three times. In the junior and youth female, she got outstanding female boxer of the entire tournament.
Estrada as an amateur at the time received opportunities to traveled with Team USA to the Women’s world championships as well, and overall holds 13 national titles. She had over 60-70 amateur fights, with eight losses.
To name some of the titles she has won, are the following: National titles won: 2x Ringside World Champion, 2015 Junior Olympic Champion, 2016 Youth Champion in Dallas, 2016 USA Boxing Youth National Champion (Youth Female Outstanding Boxer Award), 2014 Junior and Youth Open Champion (Junior Female Outstanding Boxer Award), 2012 Silver Gloves National Champion, Adidas National Champion.
On June 21, 2021, Estrada made her pro debut, at the Big Punch Arena, in Tijuana, Mexico, she fought Luz Mondaca, 134 1/2, winning by a third round TKO in a scheduled four round bout.
On October 23, 2021, Estrada, 132 1/4, returned to the Big Punch Arena, in Tijuana, and fought Glenda Guerrero Dominguez, 130, winning by a four-round unanimous decision.
Estrada told WBAN, ” So I’m very lucky to have the best work and best support from my family and team in my career. Many people know my boxing family as the Estrada’s. I am looking forward of making a statement in my division and my career and overall for Women’s boxing.”
