Diana Laura Fernández Ortiz, currently with a 38-4-1 (5KO) boxing record, she is widely known by her boxing alias “La Bonita,” is a boxer from Mexico, in the flyweight and super flyweight divisions. She was born on September 27, 1994, in the border city of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, the 31-year-old orthodox fighter has become one of her hometown’s most celebrated sports figures and a major force in women’s boxing.
Fernández made her professional boxing debut on July 19, 2013, quickly making a name for herself with her boxing talent and technical skill.
Throughout her career, Fernández has consistently faced elite competition on major promotional stages, including events backed by Promociones del Pueblo and Latin KO Promotions. Fernandez’s accomplishments include the following:
WBC Bantamweight World Title Challenge (2019): In June 2019, Fernández faced Mexican boxing legend Mariana “Barbie” Juárez in Ciudad Juárez for the WBC female bantamweight title, losing via a competitive unanimous decision.
WBC Super Flyweight World Title Challenge (2021): In July 2021, she challenged Lourdes “Pequeña Lulú” Juárez for the WBC super flyweight crown, narrowly missing out on the title in a hard-fought split decision.
WBC Silver Flyweight Success: Demonstrating her resilience, Fernández secured the WBC Silver Flyweight title, defending it successfully in high-stakes bouts.
After years of coming agonizingly close to a major world title, Fernández reached the pinnacle of her career on September 19, 2026. In front of a packed home crowd at the Gimnasio Municipal Josué Nery Santos in Ciudad Juárez, she fought France’s Clothilde Del Ben for the vacant WBC Interim Super Flyweight World Championship.
Fernández dominated the bout from the opening bell, utilizing suffocating pressure and an overwhelming punch volume. She won a clear unanimous decision victory with judges’ scorecards reading 96-92, 99-90, and 99-90, officially capturing the green and gold WBC interim world title belt.
